Join BDB volunteers

Stage:
1. Have yourself registered as a member of 1001buku Volunteer Network. To do it, simply send a blank message to 1001buku-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
2. Fill the BDB volunteer form (you can find the form in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1001buku/files/REGISTRASI/BDB). After completing the form, send it to the Registration Team (finesyarif@yahoo.com) to be processed.
3. Later, Registration Team will send you your registration number, an Introduction Letter addressed to the building management, and a set of BDB Kit (The BDB Kit is downloadable. Look it up at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1001buku/files/REGISTRASI/BDB/KIT BDB/). Make sure that Adobe Acrobat Reader software has been installed in your computer so that you can access the files.
4. Send the Introduction Letter and 1001buku Profile (available in the BDB Kit set) to the building owner/management in order to get authorization for putting a BDB in the building.
5. Prepare a box which is neat and big enough and as accordance with the building owner/management. The box may be a rattan or a plastic container, or even a cardboard box which is decorated as nicely as possible.
6. Print and laminate the BDB logo (available in the BDB Kit set) on a paper (recommended on a color paper) and stick it on the box you have prepared.
7. Create a flyer to inform people in the neighborhood of the availability of your BDB, make several copies of the flyer (recommended on color papers), and then distribute them. You may make your own creation of the flyer by referring to the Guide for Creating Flyers (available in the BDB Kit set).
8. Managing Book Drop Box:
a. Empty the Book Drop Box regularly.
b. Maintain data of the books collected.
c. Each month send the books to the nearest distribution point (see the list in http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1001buku/files/REGISTRASI/Daftar Perpus-BDB-Titik Dist/Daftar Titik Distribusi/) or contact Distribution Team (ajofufu@yahoo.com) to have the books collected (for Jabotabek area only).
9. Once you have completed the above stages, your BDB will be declared ready to operate and its existence will be published in the mailing list.
10. Once in every three months, the BDB activity will be reviewed. When stated to be inactive, you have one month pending period prior to your BDB?s abolishment from the published BDB list.
11. It is expected that you actively communicate and give information about the BDB activity you manage to the 1001buku mailing list, and get to know other 1001buku volunteers. In conclusion, welcome to the wonderful virtual world!
A Book Drop Box Kit set consists of:
1. Book Drop Box initiative logo to be printed in colors and laminated.
2. 1001buku Profile containing brief information about 1001buku and Book Drop Box initiative.
3. Guide for Creating Flyers as a reference to create flyers for promoting the Book Drop Box you manage.
